In partnership with the University of Hawai’i and the UH Foundation, Hunt developed the Residences for Innovative Student Entrepreneurs (RISE), a mixed-use student housing and innovation center for students interested in entrepreneurship.

RISE was developed to encourage local students to attend the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, providing them with a unique educational opportunity found in very few global research universities with a goal of attracting entrepreneurial students, inventors and researchers from around the world.

The six-story building includes 374 traditional style beds for budding entrepreneurs, co-working areas, makerspaces, and other learning and gathering areas. RISE will be home to an abundance of UH programs offered by the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship in the Shidler College of Business. Students at any University of Hawai‘i campus are encouraged to apply to live at RISE. It’s here that the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs of all disciplines can explore passions, solve problems, build prototypes, test ideas, and access resources. Community amenities include a resident lounge, barbecue grills, community kitchens, laundry facilities, and onsite dining spaces.

The Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship operates the entrepreneurship program at RISE, while B.HOM Student Living, which manages 28,000 beds at 24 universities in the U.S., manages the day-to-day operations of the living/learning community.
